KY Tang founded Affinity Equity Partners in 2002, after amassing more than thirty years’ experience in the private equity and banking sectors. KY, together with other former senior partners of UBS Capital Asia Pacific, spun off and formed Affinity Equity Partners. Prior to establishing the Firm, he held leadership positions with UBS, including Chief Executive for Investment Banking, East Asia for the Union Bank of Switzerland. When the Union Bank of Switzerland and Swiss Bank Corporation were merged into UBS, he was named Chief Executive, Hong Kong for UBS Group and Head of Investment Banking, Asia for UBS Investment Bank. His last position with UBS Group was as Chairman of UBS Capital Asia Pacific.
KY holds a Bachelor of Economics (Accounting) with first-class honours from the University of Malaya.
YT Park is a founding member of Affinity Equity Partners. He was formerly Head of Korea at UBS Capital Asia Pacific. Before joining UBS Capital, he worked for Samsung Electronics for nearly twenty years, holding various leadership positions including Director of Finance, Australia; Treasurer of North America; and Head of International Finance & Investor Relations Group, Korea.
YT holds a Bachelor of Economics from Sungkyunkwan University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
CJ Lee is a founding member of Affinity Equity Partners. Like many of those at Affinity Equity Partners, CJ is a UBS Capital Asia veteran. With over twenty years’ experience in the investment sector, he has honed his knowledge and expertise across a wide range of industries, including consumer retail, electronics, financial services, TMT and healthcare. Chul-Joo’s previous positions included being a private equity investor at J H Whitney & Co and an investment banker at Morgan Stanley.
CJ holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Sam Lee joined the Firm in 2007 and is the Head of Affinity Equity Partners in Korea. Before joining Affinity, he spent seven years with McKinsey & Company, where he specialised in advising blue-chip technology and finance companies across Asia, Europe and the US on corporate strategy, corporate finance and post-merger management. He began his career as a process engineer for Hyundai Electronics in Seoul and New York.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
Sam Johnson joined the Firm in 2005 and is the Head of Affinity Equity Partners in Australia. Sam previously worked in the Investment Banking Division of Credit Suisse First Boston in Sydney where his experience spanned a variety of corporate finance assignments, including cross-border M&A, demergers, equity capital raising and IPOs.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland.
Queenie Ho joined the Firm in 2004 and is the Head of Investor Relations of Affinity Equity Partners. She has been instrumental in fundraising for Affinity Fund III, Fund IV and Fund V. Before joining Affinity, Queenie was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company where she advised corporate clients across Asia in financial services, retail and consumer sectors.
Queenie holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics with first-class honours from the London School of Economics, a Master of Philosophy in Finance with distinction from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Charles Min joined Affinity Equity Partners in 2007 and is a partner at the Firm. Before joining Affinity, Charles spent four years in the Global Investment Research Team for Goldman Sachs, covering the auto, steel and shipbuilding industries in Korea. Prior to that role, he worked at the corporate advisory department of Deloitte & Touche LLP, covering the North American TMT sector.
Charles holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from the University of Toronto.
